I am thrilled to share exciting news with you about a key milestone in our Deepen and Grow strategic plan. Thanks to your prayers and generosity, Global Scholars has added a new Regional Representative to our team: Dr. Orville Plummer, who will lead and expand our efforts in the Caribbean.
Orville has a doctoral degree in educational leadership and serves as a director of technical and vocational training with Jamaica’s National Service and Training Agency. He has already been actively networking with Christian scholars in the Caribbean, and joining our team of Regional Representatives will accelerate and strengthen the movement there. Not only that, but there are also exciting opportunities for Caribbean scholars to be part of outreach to parts of the world such as the Middle East. Caribbean scholars often have easier access to places where Americans are regarded with suspicion. I am excited to see how God will use Orville in the years to come.
Orville shared with me:
Almost all the prime ministers of the Caribbean came through the universities. The medical doctors, the lawyers, the movers and shakers of the world—all walked the halls of the universities. We think Christian scholars can make a huge difference in impacting them for Christ. This is one of the best investments you can make for the Kingdom, because you are influencing the key areas of society.

Please pray that God will use Orville in his new role, and that many scholars in the Caribbean and beyond will be equipped to be salt and light. Thank you for making this milestone possible. I am thankful for you!
For Christ and the university,
Stan
My guest in this episode of the College Faith podcast is Dr. Scott Smith, Professor of Christian Apologetics at Biola University’s Talbot School of Theology. We discuss Postmodernism, a very prevalent philosophy on university campuses (as well as in many churches).
In this episode of the Thinking Christianly podcast, we continue our series by engaging Chapter 6 of my new book Have We Lost Our Minds?: Neuroscience, Neurotheology, the Soul, and Human Flourishing. JP Moreland and I discuss the nature of the relationship between the body and the soul, the implications of holistic dualism, and more.
Our May prayer calendar is now posted on our website. Download the prayer calendar to pray for professors, students, and current needs in higher education.

Next summer, we’ll be celebrating a major milestone—40 years of Global Scholars! We’re hosting a special conference in Kansas City, Missouri for professors, alumni, and supporters.
Mark your calendars for July 16-19, 2026 and consider joining us for the full conference or just the donor banquet on the evening of July 18. It will be a wonderful time to reflect on all that God has done through Global Scholars and look ahead at what’s to come.
More details will be coming soon, but for now, we hope you will save the dates!
