Every year, thousands of Christian students begin college full of excitement and hope. For many, it’s their first time living away from home. They face new freedoms, new pressures, and new voices that often challenge what they believe.

Take Mike, for example.

Mike grew up in a Christian home and gave his life to Christ at a young age. He was active in his church and became a youth group leader during high school. When he started at a public university, he joined a campus ministry and wanted to be a light for Christ. But just six weeks into his freshman year, Mike said he no longer believed. When asked why, he explained, “All my professors, who are really smart, think Christianity is silly. It isn’t worth my life.”

Sadly, Mike’s story isn’t unusual.

The good news is that it doesn’t have to be this way. Students can grow both academically and spiritually in college if they are prepared and supported. When young people build a solid faith foundation before leaving home and learn how to think Christianly about what they study, they are better equipped to face challenges with confidence.

That’s why Global Scholars wants to help churches and families have this important conversation.

I, along with other Global Scholars leaders, am available to speak in person or virtually to your church about how students and parents can work together to strengthen faith during the college years.

You’ll learn practical ways to:

  • Build a strong foundation before college begins
  • Respond wisely to worldviews that challenge the gospel
  • Find spiritual and academic support when things get tough

Last spring, Global Scholars presented this event for one of our partner churches. Here’s what the student pastor had to say about the experience:

The College Faith Roundtable was an incredibly valuable experience for our students and parents. Whether a student is heading to college, into the workforce, or exploring another path after high school, the conversation helped them think deeply about how to stay grounded in their faith beyond youth group and into adulthood. Dr. Stan Wallace brought both wisdom and practical insight that sparked meaningful dialogue between students and parents. I’d highly recommend this event to any church that wants to equip their students to think Christianly and live faithfully in the next season of life. – Brandon Smith, Student Pastor, Graceway Church

This spring, high school students across the country will graduate. Don’t send them unprepared into what’s next. If you’d like to help the students in your community stay strong in their faith, we would love to partner with you.

Together, we can help students love God with their whole heart and mind throughout their college years and beyond.

In this episode of the Thinking Christianly podcast, we kick off a series about the debate between Realism and Nominalism. What makes things what they are? How can we understand our relationship to our world?
