Thank you for investing in Christian professors around the world. Your support is equipping them to influence the next generation of leaders with the gospel. University students are exposed to many worldviews, some of which directly oppose God’s truth. But because of you, Christian professors are becoming equipped to be a light in these environments, boldly sharing their faith with students and colleagues.

I was recently encouraged by the stories of two scholars in Kenya who completed a training program on being missional professors. Their experiences show how your partnership is empowering them to share Christ in their academic settings. I hope you’ll be encouraged by their words as well:

For me, the training program was very enriching. I felt like I was on a spiritual journey, working not just on impacting my university and my colleagues, but changing myself. I can say today that it is actually possible to be a missional professor. I am now confident enough to integrate my beliefs without feeling that I have to separate my religious life from my class life and my work life as a professor. I have become more courageous, so that even now as I give examples in my teaching, I don’t shy away from giving examples from the Bible. For example, if we are talking about the greatest teachers, I may give examples of various professionals, but I can also mention the example of Jesus. (Mary, Education)

The program was an eye-opener. It helped me to see that all along God was preparing me to come to this state, where I can be missional in academia. Before I joined this program, if students from other faiths were in my office, I never saw it as an opportunity to talk to them patiently and in a loving way to leave the mark of Christ on them. So in this training, I found myself developing more interest in talking to students, particularly those who come from Islamic backgrounds. (Ferdinand, Theology)

Please pray for Mary, Ferdinand, and professors like them around the world. Ask God to give them courage and wisdom as they share His truth in classrooms, offices, and lecture halls. Thank you for standing with them with your prayers and support. I am thankful for you!

For Christ and the university,

Stan

On this episode of the College Faith podcast, we discuss what it means to live with purpose, not just someday, but right now: in your dorm, your classes, your friend group, and your part-time job. I’m joined by Eric Rafferty and Jon Hietbrink, two of the authors of Reviving Mission: Awakening to the Everyday Movement of God.

On this episode of the Thinking Christianly podcast, J.P. Moreland and I are joined by Cambridge-trained neuroscientist Dr. Sharon Dirckx to discuss my new book Have We Lost Our Minds?: Neuroscience, Neurotheology, the Soul, and Human Flourishing. We discuss evidence that we are more than just a body, the importance of open dialogue, and more.
