Stephen Garrett, Ph.D.

Dr. Stephen M. Garrett recently taught as an Associate Professor of Philosophy and Religion at the Vilnius Academy of Arts in Vilnius, Lithuania and now serves as Curriculum Vice-President for Global Scholars. He leads an international team to develop resources and curriculum that equip, empower, and encourage Christian professors to bring the gospel to bear organically in their teaching, research, and administration.

He has published on the theological aesthetics of Hans Urs von Balthasar and continues to explore the nexus of theology and the political via aesthetics in his current research into late modern philosophy of art and 20th century personalism. His most recent book is a co-edited volume entitled, Theology and the Political: Theo-political Reflections on Contemporary Politics in Ecumenical Conversation (Brill 2020) and has two forthcoming volumes with T&T Clark/Bloomsbury entitled, Hans Urs von Balthasar: Introduction and Sourcebook and T&T Clark Companion to Theology and the Arts.

Stephen and his wife, Rebecca, live in Texas with their teenage son.
